"At King's Manor in Shoreham, prior to academisation, there was at least full blown consultation as laid down by the rules in place at the time. Everybody involved in the campaign to oppose the change knew all the groundwork had been prepared beforehand, but what really swung it with the parents and the staff was the prospect of £30 million for the new build. What Mrs Beer and the head of governors are proposing for WHS is a smash-and-grab operation, made possible by the rule changes effected by Michael Gove. Parents and staff at WHS need to continue to fight side by side against this pernicious and undemocratic initiative".
